Youth group “Already Confirmed”: Information Hub
Dear parents and young people, Welcome to our high school “already confirmed” youth program, crafted for continued faith and friendship building. It is a little different than the other courses, in that it approaches being an actual “club,” providing a time and place where young people (under 21) can meet up in a parish environment. Like our other religious education programs, this one is complete with four components: 1) Sunday Mass, even in the summer season when we do not have classes. Participation in the Eucharist forms the foundation of our program and all that we do here as a parish. Those who have completed our high school confirmation program are well aware of how this works. We ask at least 75% attendance during each four-month quarter. 2) Evening gatherings, held twice a month under the direction of our dedicated team. Click here for the schedule and updates. 3) Continued “learning, to deepen the students’ knowledge of the important components of our faith. This group will be learning new material, and will be challenged! You can find it listed here. 4) Service at our parish events, especially at our weekend food offerings, two annual festivals and Advent Posada. Your church has acquired an impressive array of festival equipment, including a taco cart and double deep fryer, then cotton candy, popcorn and soft serve ice cream machines. Let’s learn how to use them! This group will have the opportunity to prepare dinner for their younger Confirmation class peers once a month. You will be able to track your progress in these four areas here. We divide our program into quarters, each one being four months. Students successfully complete one quarter, and are thereby admitted to the next quarter. By now, a degree of self-motivation and interest is assumed, and we count on the maturity of our youth participants. The program begins the second Thursday of September. Meetings are held from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Youth group members might arrive a little earlier or stay later to clean on occasion, especially when we are serving food. You can apply any time at the office. We will assist you with our online enrollment form. We ask only a small, non-refundable fee for processing your information. Stop by; we look forward to seeing you! *To continue with our program, parents and students must be committed to regularly attending Sunday Mass.
